ABOUT JACOB
Jacob grew up in Missouri Valley Iowa, a small town of about 2700 people. While growing up in a family that didn't know Jesus he was invited to a local youth group where he met Jesus. The relationship he began with Jesus changed his life forever. Jacob loves going on walks with his beautiful wife Lydia or playing in the yard with Rory, their boxer puppy. Jacob is a passionate writer and dynamic speaker who is always trying to sharpen his skills to invite more students to begin a relationship with Jesus.
CCV RESIDENCY
Cohort 3
At the 2014 International Conference on Missions Jacob was walking around and saw a huge leadership flag. Immediately drawn to it by his passion for leadership he went to learn more. After learning it was a Residency program that promised to challenge him and prepare him for ministry he quickly applied. Now almost five years into full time ministry he recognizes this Residency as the greatest investment he has ever made in his preparation for full time ministry.
SCOOTERING
18 Years and Counting
Jacob started scootering to impress a pretty girl he had a crush on and because one of his neighbors said was good at it. After a while it became a hobby he fell in love with. The sport has grown from Razor scooters at Walmart to custom parts cut out by CNC machines made out of aircraft grade aluminum. He loves riding and has no plans of stopping anytime soon. This passion of scootering also led him to start The Ride Day.

LEADERSHIP
Only Jesus
As a young follower of Jesus in middle school, Jacob became aware of how his actions were affecting the people around him. As he considered following Jesus for the rest of his life he knew he wanted to use that influence to lead others towards Jesus. It always made sense to lead them to the very best thing, Jesus. This has always been Jacob's favorite part of leadership.

THE RIDE DAY
As a young teenager, Jacob grew up craving community and wanting to a part of a scootering community. Growing up he wanted to go to competitions or extreme sports camps to quench this need. However, when he moved to Rochester Minnesota in 2016 he found a better opportunity. Jacob saw so many scooter riders that needed that same community. So as he got to know riders and built influence he started dreaming and began The Ride Day.
year one
2017
The Ride Day started as a Scootering Camp. Jacob knew younger riders were often ignored and made fun of by older riders with more experience. Growing up with no older riders in a small town he knew how hard it was to get better at scootering. Gathering the support of a few friends and the most influential scooter riders in Minnesota, Dakota Knight, Jacob decided to host a scootering camp to connect older and younger riders and build community!

year two
2018
Jacob invited Olivia Monks, an internationally known Scooter rider and filmer to film his own Scootering Video. Knowing this rider would attract other area riders he invited her to ride at the local skatepark. This gave them both the opportunity to give away lots of scootering parts to local riders! Olivia used her influence on Instagram to invite area riders to "The Ride Day" which was when the name was born!
year three
2019
Gathering the support of student leaders from Hope Summit Christian Church, local parents and Volare, a Scootering company from Minnesota, Jacob saw The Ride Day grow by 50% including riders from surrounding states! This year The Ride Day grabbed the attention of local newspapers and included the support of a local pizza place that donated all the food for the event!

year four
2020
In year four Jacob knew The Ride Day needed more leaders to continue to grow! The new volunteer team he recruited included area parents who brought snacks and drinks and also a team of riders that were well known and respected for their riding and creative videos in the scootering community worldwide. The Ride day grew by 30% this year including more parents and more riders!
